Heavenly Father adores his children. I think we are entitled to be born within the bonds of matirmony because He knows that in these conditions is where a child can be safer, feel greater love and security. I think we are also entitled to be reared in a home where parents honor their marital vows because we chose to come to this earth to learn. This home enviornment is designed to help us achieve our purpose on earth.
This paragaraph of the procalmation says that this is the way happiness is most likely to be achieved. It is not guaranteed, because it is our own personal choices and attitudes that determine our happiness. This home enviornment can greately influence our temperment and views, but it cannot determine our happiness.
Communication is not mentioned in this paragraph for a successful marriage. I think this is because when we practice faithfully the other principles mentioned; such as faith, repentance, prayer, forgiveness, respect, love, compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities, then communication should come naturally. I really don't think there is any point in being honest about an affair, or something that bothers you if you don't practice the other principles in this list.
From the latter, I think that the principle of compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities are very important for my future family. I think that compassion will be key in moments when I feel like I am doing everything myself, or when someone else messes up. I would like to keep in mind that and remember that everyone is doing their best. Compassion will help me become slow to anger. Work will be essential, it is what bring joy into a family. Teaching my family to work will be a blessing for us. And finally, wholesome recreational activities will help our family be unified. Unity in the family is very important and sharing joyful experiences together will help us build trust in each other.
Fathers protect their families spiritually by teaching and directing their family to do good. To be obedient to the commandments and rightously upholding his priesthood. A nurturing mother would be someone who is always teaching by word and by example to be kind and loving towards others.
